There is a single thought
That has been weighing on my mind

I shy away from confrontation, yet

To express all of my thoughts in song

Put the lyrics where they belong
But, it gets difficult when
The words all seem to come out wrong
Hindering me from completing my task

Until we have reached terminus.

Just when our lives will be done,
So why not live each day like it’s our last;

As the days go by, they’re growing shorter
And I am drifting further from
The person who I thought I would be.
So I’ve been taking some time to realign
The synapses in my brain, and
Help me see more clearly.

Living that paycheck to paycheck routine
But theres an ever-lurking feeling

What truly makes me happy…
